Dear Barbie, Wow!! I don’t even know where to start. When I contacted you, besides never having owned a dog I was also afraid of dogs. I explained to you that I wanted a dog with an excellent temperament and that was hypoallergenic. You far exceeded any expectations I ever had about owning a dog. Biscuit is the BEST!!He is playful, but also listens extremely well, he has been crate trained from the day we brought him home and is doing extremely well with being housebroken. Also, and I am not exaggerating, we are not able to walk down the street or go anywhere without everyone telling us how cute and well mannered Biscuit is. My husband and I have never received so many compliments in our entire lives. You should be getting many phone calls in the future, because everyone has asked us what breeder we used.
Besides Biscuit, you are an amazing breeder. You have excellent communication and responded to all my e-mails immediately.I can’t thank you enough for bringing Biscuit into our lives. Thank you again!! Regards, Jill, Wayne & Evan Mandel
Hi Barbie,
I have been meaning to e-mail you for a while. I cannot thank you enough for Clementine (originally Pink Collar Girl). She is the most lovable amazing dog I have ever owned. She brings so many smiles and so much love to everyone she meets. She loves to cuddle right up and give kisses. She has been so patient and a constant companion for Jack and Maeve. Jack teaches all the kids how to stand like a tree if she jumps. We say "kennel" and she goes right to her crate. It took 10 years of marriage to convince my husband a dog would complete our family. Now even he can't imagine our family without Clementine. He loves her more than he ever thought he would. You were right on when helping us chose the right puppy. Her temperament is amazing. We get so many compliments on her. My sister swears she is part human. She is eager to please and never want to disappoint us so she is a quick learner. Don't get me wrong we have had our fair share of accidents int he house, but I can honestly say those were our mistake for not understanding her clues. We got her Poochie Bells that hang on the door. She rings them with her nose when she needs to go out. Anyway I could go on and on but in the end I just want you to know we could not be happier with Clementine and we have told everyone about Landmark Labradoodles.
Kind regards, Kristen Dear Barbie,
I know it's been over a year but we thought you might like to see a recent picture of Spirit who is now 1 year and 3 months old. I know with all your parents and pups you might have a hard time placing her. She was born on Oct. 20, 2007 and her parents were Amber and Ruger. We picked her up on Dec. 15th and have been in love ever since. She's smart as a whip and took to training like a trooper but she definitely has a mind of her own and has what we like to call "selective hearing" when it suits her needs - ha! She loves camping and makes friends with humans, canines and felines alike. She and our 6 yr. old cat Jax are the best of buddies and play together every day. She helps to keep these "old timers" thinking "young" and did I mention we just love her to bits - ha! Just thought you'd like an update and know that your "baby" is happy, healthy and having a great life. Hope all is well with you and your family and all your canine children.
Regards, Sharon & Rod
Dear Barbie,
I just wanted to write quickly and give you an update on Sydney. She is doing great!
We took her to the vet on Thursday for her vaccines and puppy check-up. The vet was great, and obviously thought she was a wonderful dog. She is coming along so well with the house breaking. She goes inside about once a day, and always on paper. It means a lot of running up and down stairs, but we are starting to recognize the "look" and head down right away.
I cannot believe a week ago we were just excited about meeting Ms. Purple Collar. Now, she has become such a loving and happy part of our lives that I cannot imagine what we did before her! She is so well behaved, and so intelligent. We feel incredibly lucky.
Thank you!
Molly Hi Barbie --
I should have sent this along on Cooper's birthday, since I was thinking a lot about you on that day. I just wanted to send along a recent picture and tell you how much we all adore Cooper. He has truly made himself central to the life of every one of us. As Matthew said a minute ago, "I'm not a religious type, but sometimes I think Cooper is God's dog and he's just letting us borrow him."
Anyway, all the best and thanks for giving Cooper such a great start in life.
David Chapman (and family)
Hi Barbie,
10 pups!!! You just got through with Amber's brood and now all these new babes to take care of - and I thought we had our work cut out for us with one small labradoodle - ha! Tired?? I'd be exhausted!! Spirit went for her first grooming yesterday and did very well. She loved her bath and stood nice and still to be clipped and brushed. I was happy to find out that she won't be one of those dogs who "head for the hills" whenever they have to go be "fluffed and puffed" - ha! We go for our 2nd training lesson today but I feel very confident that she'll do well as she got last week's lessons down pat. Well, we wish you the best of luck with your newest litter and we just can't help but think about the 10 people or families who will be lucky enough to adopt one of them. We get more enamored of our little girl every day and are constantly finding new things about her that delight us. Thank you again for bringing us together. We'll keep in touch. Shar
Feel free to include any emails on your "what our owners have to say" page. I know when we were researching for a new dog we always were drawn more to breeders who offered responses from people who had bought from them previously. As far as I'm concerned, if someone contacts you and seems very serious about getting one of your pups you have my permission to give them our email address. We only have positive things to say, not only about how happy we are with Spirit but our whole adoption process with you. Shar
Maggie is our puppy we donated to the Northstar Foundation. Maggie has a big job ahead of her and is well on her way through the training process. Good luck Maggie!
Hi Barbie,
How are you? I'm fine and Maggie is doing awesome in our training program...she was with me for a few weeks, and then has been with one of our best puppy raising homes in New Hampshire ever since...
Below please find her latest post which reflects her progress...
I'll be sure to keep you posted on her progress!
Kind regards, Patty
Maggie is just delightful, and knowing that she is going to a home with boys is very helpful. How old are they? We have a 1st grade boy down the hill who has already met Maggie,l and well try to get in more visits. She is a love--we are so enjoying her! We've been working on manners, (great "soft bite" technique, by the way, Patty--thanks for the tip--she's already doing much better with that!) She is such a happy-go-lucky little girl, and has enjoyed exploring the farm and making it her own. The weather has been so warm that we've had her outside "learning how to be a farm dog", as well as leash work. She adores Brian, and follows him everywhere. She seemed a bit tentative at first, but that didn't last long. She seems to be up for just about anything... She's learning "fetch" and "sit", and of course, "come", which she's aces every time. I would love to know what hand signals you would like her to know, as well as any other "tips" you can give me that will help consistancy in her training. She's doing well in public, and I think that her family is going to be very lucky to have such a sweet dog. These NorthStar Dogs are really something special!
Please feel free to have her family contact me to get news on her progress--
Rosie is WONDERFUL. She is already (for the most part) house trained. She know sit, lay down, roll over, give kisses, do your business and most importantly, how to wrap everyone she meets around her little paw.
She did very well at the vet. Vet even suggested for her to become a therapy dog because of her temperment. I have already brought her into some counselling sessions and she soothes the broken hearted.
She has slept in my bed since her first night. No accidents whatsoever. Wakes me if necessary but ususally I have to wake her. She is not a morning dog! And I am not a morning person so the match is perfect.
She is growing in leaps and bounds and I will get someone to take a pic of her for you unless you have a picture cell phone then I will gladly send you one immediately. She loves the snow, being outside, playing up a storm and still cuddles with her blankie.
She comes to work with me every day. Several people have asked for your website address because of her gentleness and beauty. Especially those families with children who have allergies.
The only problem...we've become perhaps too attached. We will start obedience school as soon as she has all her shots at the end of the month. We may do private lessons at home but it will be done.
